In support of the preservation and conservation of Portugal’s heritage, Lisbon Heritage Hotels has donated €3,200 from reservations made through its website during 2017.
The amount was donated to the Educational Services of the Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva Foundation, an internationally recognised institution dedicated to the transmission of expertise in arts and crafts. Founded in 1953 as a museum-school, the Foundation’s mission is to promote, disseminate and safeguard artistic and intangible heritage.
Through this initiative, Lisbon Heritage Hotels aims to contribute to the preservation of national heritage by fostering awareness, appreciation and the art of restoration.
As its five properties are housed in buildings closely linked to the city’s history and architectural heritage, there has always been a strong commitment to maintaining and preserving their original features.
At Solar do Castelo, archaeological excavations led to the creation of the present museum space showcasing the cistern of the former Palacete das Cozinhas, which survived the 1755 earthquake and has been preserved to this day.
Lisbon Heritage Hotels brings together charming properties located in the historic centre of Lisbon, housed in former residences and historic buildings. Owned by Portuguese families who joined forces to create intimate settings, each hotel is designed to strengthen the connection to the city’s heritage and culture, while offering every modern comfort.
The Lisbon Heritage Hotels collection comprises four properties: As Janelas Verdes, Heritage Avenida Liberdade Hotel, Hotel Lisboa Plaza and Solar do Castelo.
